Canine Good Citizen (CGC), AKC Canine Good Citizen

We’re excited to offer training and testing for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Our trainers will help you and your pooch to achieve success!  Pooches should have already learned a foundational skillset in Urban Pooch LEVELS I – III and currently be enrolled in Urban Pooch LEVELS IV, which prepares you and your pooch for CGC Testing.

To earn certification, your dog must pass the following tests:

-Accepting a stranger
-Sitting politely for petting
-Walking on a loose lead
-Walking through a crowd
-Performing “Sit” and “Down” on command
-Staying in place
-Coming when called
-Reacting to other dogs
-Reacting to distraction
-Supervised separation

Community Canine – AKC Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA)

We’re excited to offer the NEW AKC Community Canine℠ Training Class as part of the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Program. Dogs who pass the AKC Community Canine test earn the official AKC Community Canine title and “CGCA” (Advanced Canine Good Citizen) on the dog’s title record. All dogs must already have a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test on record with AKC to participate.

The AKC Community Canine test is done in public situations like shows, classes, and in the community. The test is administered by an AKC Approved CGC Evaluator. This includes 6 weeks of class + the exam on the 7th week.

Cost: $260 (includes cost of test)
