Unlike a rigid traditional model of 5 or 6 weeks in a row, in LEVELS you can focus on what’s challenging for YOUR dog. Urban Pooch LEVELS is an innovative approach to obedience & manners training that emphasizes real-world manners and life skills for dogs in the city, while respecting each dog's individual journey.

In LEVEL 1 - A Foundation of Focus, The primary goal is for your dog to focus and engage with you in a group setting. Focus comes first! Easy for some, but a real accomplishment for others!

In LEVEL 2 - Building the Basics, we focus on the development of basic obedience and impulse control skills - so you and your dog have an understanding of all the classic “commands.”

In LEVEL 3 - Challenge and Growth, Now that you and your dog have a solid understanding of the basics, it’s time to build confidence by gradually adding layers of challenge. Let’s address what’s hard for your dog, but let’s have fun doing it!

And in LEVEL 4, It’s time to apply what you’ve learned out in the real world and see where your training can take you. With multiple offerings per week, rotating seasonally, you can design a weekly training routine that works for your family, so you can keep those skills sharp. How does Urban Pooch LEVELS Training Improve Daily Life with Your Pooch?

Some examples by Urban Pooch LEVEL:

✅ Level 1

• Just a few simple “tricks” can make it easy to move your dog around.
• Capture your dog’s interest and hold their attention, even with other dogs and people around
• Trade your dog for objects so you can keep them safe
• Navigate leashed walks through our dog-dense neighborhoods, safely, even when your dog isn’t able to “pay attention.”
• Wait patiently for their toy or food bowl

✅ Level 2

• Sit politely while you clip the leash on and off, pick up poop, or step through a doorway ahead of them…
• Walk calmly by your side for short distances, with or without food depending on distraction level.
• Stop and wait at curbs, corners, and doors.
• Turn and run towards you when you call
• Stay calm around new people by playing simple games, preparing for polite greetings

✅ Level 3

• Sit or down stay while you chat with a friend or neighbor
• Perform trained behaviors without treats in your pockets
• Pass people calmly on the sidewalk, or wait off to the side
• Come when called, ignoring a toy or other distraction
• More predictable interactions with new people – know when your dog is likely to “Say Hi” nicely and when to say no thanks.

• Relax at a patio, leaving food and other diners alone.

Canine Good Citizen (CGC):

Do you have a question you keep forgetting to ask in class? Have you noticed a change in your puppy's behavior lately that has you thinking, "is this normal?" Are you wondering how to apply the Urban Pooch LEVELS curriculum to a particular situation at home?

Urban Pooch LEVELS Office Hours is your opportunity to join your fellow classmates in a group ZOOM Meeting with one of our awesome Urban Pooch Certified Instructors and get your questions answered. You can drop-in for a few minutes to ask a question or stay for the entire 45 min. session. We're here to provide some extra guidance from your favorite Trainers.

How to Register

Step 1 - Purchase A Membership or Pass

First, start by purchasing either an Unlimited Monthly Membership or a 6-Class Punch Card.

If you are new to our group training classes, you'll need to make an account with PunchPass before purchasing. The links above should prompt you sign-in or create an account first.

Step 2 - Ensure We Have All The Proper Paperwork On File

Before you can attend class with your dog, you'll need to make sure all your dog's relevant paperwork has been properly submitted to Urban Pooch.

New Students

If you have not previously participated in our training programs, you'll need to fill out this Training Intake Form. To complete this form you'll need to upload a picture or PDF of your dog's relevant health records (Rabies, Bordetella & Distemper).

Within 24 hours of completing the form, one of our Training Ambassadors will contact you directly to let you know you're approved.

Past Students/Students Coming From Another Urban Pooch Program

If you have already attended training classes with us, you DO NOT need to re-fill out the Training Intake Form. However, before your first class, you'll need to ensure your dog's relevant health records (Rabies, Bordetella & Distemper) are up to date in our filing system.

Step 3 - Watch The Orientation Video

Before you come to your first class, you'll need to watch a pre-recorded orientation video.*

New students will receive an email explaining how to use PunchPass and make reservations as well as a few rules/helpful tips for new people/dogs in the program. This email will also include a link to the orientation video.

You should receive this email within 24 hours of registering.

*If you do not watch the video, you will be unaware of crucial rules, procedures and policies for this program.

Step 4 - Urban Pooch Adventures

Once you've purchased your membership, watched the orientation video and submitted all necessary records, you can start making reservations for and attending LEVELS classes!
