When you pick them up, they have a smile on their face! Our Pet Care Professionals have been trained to foster happy and safe groups of pooches at all times. They are trained in reading dog’s body language and understand how to foster Happy Times - All the Time!
At Urban Pooch, Group Play Daycare is organized by both size of dogs and temperament. If your small pooch enjoys playing with the big dogs, we allow them to do that. Safety is Always our number one priority.

Daycare and Boarding Requirements
Urban Pooch believes all dogs have the right to a safe, healthy, and enjoyable environment. When your pooch comes to join us, we require the following to ensure the safety and health of your best friend(s):
Before your dog can stay with us for daycare and/or boarding, s/he must be evaluated and socialized at least 24 hours prior. All dogs must attend daycare at least 2 times before s/he is eligible for an overnight stay. This allows your pooch to become more comfortable with Urban Pooch before staying for a longer period of time.
IMPORTANT: No Daycare drop-offs Monday-Friday between 10am and 11:45am.
This is designed to reduce the busy intake rushes and allow the dogs time for uninterrupted play without the stress of new dogs entering.
New Meet & Greets take place throughout the week, by appointment only. Please contact us - per the above options - if you want your Pooch to Join our Urban Pooch Pack Happy Times! We are currently Welcoming New Pooches into our Urban Pooch Pack.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POOCHES IN DAYCARE:
- Dog must be at least 4-months old and in good health.
- Spayed or Neutered by 6-months of age (This rule applies to daycare ONLY. Neutering/spaying is not a requirement at any age for training classes)
- Have a City of Chicago Dog License (Municipal Code 7-12-140) www.chicityclerk.com/licenses/dogs.html
- Have a nylon collar with ID securely attached.
- Dog must have been in your care for at least 10-days prior to the day of your socialization appointment
- If your dog was adopted, they need to have been in your home for 2-weeks before attending daycare.

Health Policy
Pooches attending daycare/boarding at Urban Pooch must be in good health and free of any communicable diseases. Pooches who have any challenges or difficulties with mobility will not be allowed into daycare/boarding due to the overall well being of the pooch. Mobility problems are generally caused by a root problem such as dysplasia, back problems, arthritis, or other internal issues like tumors/growths.
If you notice any of the following symptoms, DO NOT bring your pooch in for daycare/boarding.
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Gaging / Coughing
Sneezing
Mobility Challenges include:
- Difficulty standing up/getting up without assistance.
- Difficulty walking and keeping balance in a pack setting.
Wounds
Urban Pooch is an open pack setting and doesn’t have isolation areas to accommodate any pooches that can’t be in the general population due to health concerns. All pooches who attend daycare & boarding must be free of any and all wounds. This policy umbrellas all and any open wounds for safety purposes. If a pooch must wear any type of wraps/shirts/cones for any type of medical concern, Urban Pooch will not allow the pooch in for daycare/boarding.
- Cuts, Scratches, Fresh abrasions, Lacerations or any open wound
- Hot Spots
- Removed fatty lumps/growths/pimples/warts
- Stitches/sutures or Staples on the body or inside the mouth post-dental
- Any openings that were glued shut
All wounds must be completely healed, closed, and scabbed over to be allowed into daycare/boarding.

Full-Day Daycare
Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm
Sunday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Drop-off and Pick-up Hours
Drop-off by 10:00am
Pick-up after 3:00pm
(NO drop-offs or pick-ups between 10:00 AM and 11:45 AM)
Half-Day - Monday through Friday only
Morning Half-Day: 7:00am to 12:00pm
Drop off by 10:00am
Pick up by 12:00pm
Afternoon Half-Day: 1:00am to 6:00pm
Drop off by 3:00pm
Pick up after 3:00pm
No drop-off or pick-ups between 10:00am and 11:45am
Late Night Pick-up Convenience Service is available 7 nights/week (with a few exceptions throughout the year).
LATE NIGHT PICKUP for your convenience is priced as follows:
Monday - Saturday: 6 PM - Midnight,
Sunday 5 PM - Midnight;
up to 3 hours: $30, Over 3 hours = $45.
Arrangements must be made in advance and dog must be dropped off during normal hours of operation
Prepayment is required for all Late Night Pick-ups
If your Pooch does stay overnight, the standard boarding rate will apply.
When picking up Late Night, you may pick-up at our back door until Midnight.
Call 312-810-9143 and our Counselors will bring your Pooch to you.
Please do not knock on the doors or windows, as it disturbs our neighbors.

The Monthly Package you select depends on how often you want to bring your dog to Daycare each week. The more often your pup attends, the more you save on the daily rate.

The Monthly Packages are non-refundable and expire in 45 days. We will help you select the package that matches the number of days you plan to bring your dog each month.
Frequently Asked Questions & Responses
• Regular Attendance: When dogs attend Daycare regularly, they become comfortable with the surroundings and our team. Additionally, when dogs participate on the same days each week, they play with the same canine friends and focus on the fun experiences rather than being distracted by newcomers in the group.
• Random Attendance: When dogs attend Daycare on random days, we spend lots of additional time helping them reacclimate to the surroundings, our team, and most importantly, to the dogs in the group who already know each other well. The best example we can give you is to think of a child being the new kid at school every time they attend.
• When you purchase your monthly package, we recommend you make reservations for the month. This way you are guaranteed a spot on the days you prefer.
• If you don’t need one of the days you’ve reserved, then you can call us within 24-hours so we can help you reserve a different day, as long as we have space on the day you prefer.
• If you can’t make it on a day you have reserved, we ask that you give us 24-hours’ notice to avoid forfeiting that day from your package or your pre-payment for the day.
• If you give us advance notice, we are more than happy to work with your schedule based on our availability.
